Photo Session Clothing Guide

This is a quick guide to point you in the right direction when it comes to picking your photo outfit.

It is not meant to be a list of do’s and don'ts!

-COORDINATE DON'T MATCH-

There is such a thing as being 'too matchy'.

You don't want your family looking like they are in uniform but at the same time you do want their clothing to be coordinated.

Try picking 1-2 base colours that will make up the majority colour for your clothing.

An example of this might be cream, navy or white.

Next add in 2-3 accent colours that work well together.

-Keep It Simple-

Logo and image t-shirts are fine for everyday, but they will quickly date your photos and add unnecessary distractions to them.

Wearing overly busy prints and patterns as well as wearing too many accessories can cause your photos to look cluttered.

Opt for plain 'one colour' items. The simpler the better!

-AVOID BRIGHT COLOURS-

Avoid bright, bold colours that may clash or distract from the overall look of the photo.

These bright colours along with black can often reflect harsh unnatural colours onto your skin whereas lighter softer or muted colours reflect lighter softer tones.

In the chart bellow we would recommend the first three colour pallets: Neutral, Earthy, & Pastel.

Try to avoid the Bright colour pallet.

-WEAR SOMETHING COMFY-

We'll be asking you to move around and be natural. Don't wear something you are uncomfortable in or that makes your movements restricted and feeling awkward.

Wear something you love!

When you feel great, that confidence will shine through in your portraits.
